About Isabela
The "bewitching" young Chilean soprano Isabela Díaz burst onto the UK scene at the beginning of the 23/24 season, joining the coveted Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House and impressing audiences with her "silken soprano". In the 24/25 season, Isabela will perform Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro and Jano Jenůfa on the mainstage as well as the role of Vespetta in Pimpinone at the ROH Linbury Theatre. She will cover the roles of Marzelline Fidelio, Mimì La bohème and Micaela Carmen.
In the 23/24 season, Isabela performed the roles of Sandman Hansel and Gretel, and Frasquita Carmen for the Royal Opera House, as well as Brigitta Iolanta for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Isabela was also the soprano soloist in The Royal Ballet's Requiem (Faure). In addition, she covered the roles of Mimì La bohème and Fiordiligi Così fan tutte at the ROH.
Before beginning on the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme, Díaz had already begun carving out an impressive career at home. For Teatro Colón, her roles have included Serpetta and Sandrina Finta Giardiniera, Ingrata Altri Canti d’amor, Norina Don Pasquale and Susanna and Zerlina in the Mozart Lyric Gala and, for the Juventus Lyrica Company, Pamina Die Zauberflöte and Valencienne Die lustige Witwe. On the concert stage, she has appeared as a concert soloist in Teatro Colón's Selva morale e spirituale and Theodora. Elsewhere, she has performed in Teatro Argentino de la Plata's Dixit Dominus and Solomon (Handel), Municipal Theatre of Santiago Gloria (Vivaldi) and Magnificat (Bach). Isabela was a student at the University of Chile and the Higher Institute of Art at the Teatro Colón. Since 2022, Isabela has been part of the Aftista FÍA Program of the Ibáñez Atkinson Foundation.
