Winner: Herbert von Karajan Young Conductor's Award, Salzburg Festival 2021
Joel Sandelson came to international attention in summer 2021 after winning the prestigious Salzburg Festival Herbert von Karajan Young Conductors Award. He returned to the Salzburg Festival in summer 2022 to make his acclaimed debut with the RSO Wien and has since worked with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Staatsorchester Stuttgart, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Valencia Orchestra and Dresden Philharmonie.
Highlights of the 2023/24 season include his return to the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano and debuts with the Copenhagen Philharmonic, Bremen Philharmoniker, Staatsorchester Hannover and NFM Wrocław Philharmonic.
